Cinnamon trees (Cinnamomum) are evergreen trees or shrubs in the laurel family (Lauraceae) with aromatic leaves and bark. The genus contains about 300 species, which grow in tropical and subtropical areas of North and South America, Africa, Asia, Oceania and Australia. Camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) also belongs to this genus.
